The authors have already been linked to a biography page or their own personal web sites. The Editorial Reviews on each of the books are from Amazon.
As the books are read... I will add curriculum ties and lesson ideas to this wiki page. At the bottom of this page I have also attached 2 FileMaker Pro data bases . I will house the question one on a FMPro server for any teachers to access within Pinellas... just send me an email for directions.. The other is a fun way for kids to create reviews sheets by creating a bingo game.. It was created with FilemakerPro also.

f.m.6/08--- Ok this one has taken the lead for me so far! Another great Clements novel! I loved it, loved the ideas of no talking increasing the creativity and thinking skills of the students.. Loved the teachers ideas .. and also the relationships of the students with peers and adults.. a lot of good discussion possibilities... Be sure to check out Title peak for some good reviews of the book. love the connection to Ghandi..The “unshushables,” Dave Packer’s fifth-grade classmates, are known for being nonstop talkers. After
Dave learns that Mahatma Gandhi practiced being silent one day a week to bring order to his mind,
he decides to try it. An encounter with Lynsey, another fifth-grade talker, initiates a contest between
the boys and girls for the next 48 hours. The principal and teachers negatively react to the contest
and insist that the students return to their previous behavior. Consequently, Dave finds himself in the
middle of a swirling controversy. This fast-paced, thought-provoking story will quickly grab readers
and could lead to interesting class discussions. (Grades 3-6)

fm,6/08 - Great book dealing with a 5th graders reactions to having an autistic brother.. and then making friends with a boy.. having a new neighbor move in - a girl - give lots of hope for a new dream friendship. A great lesson would be having students communicate; using bliss symbols for a day.
